Managed Virtual
Private Servers: You host and manage your sites
independently, we manage the server.
Our model is simple: we
offer managed virtual private servers of a different
kind. We target only those non-technical customers who do not
have sufficient technical know-how, but want to be able to try
their hand in the Web-hosting business. Basically, we manage
the servers, you host and manage all your sites from a central
account via the Web.
You get full control of how
much space, bandwidth, databases, emails, functionalities,
software, etc. your individual sites get, you create your own
hosting plans and take care of your own customers, just as
someone with a full server would. The only thing you do not
get is root access to the server (since we assume you do not
know what to do with such access). For more details on this
service, click here.

Service
Explanation
Important: We use the term "Virtual
Private Server" here to convey the idea that there is really
not much difference, in terms of functionality, between what
we offer and what you will get when you get a real "Virtual
Private Server" with ISPs who offer real ones in terms of
server partitioning. The real
difference is only in the fact that in a real "Virtual Private
Server" context, the server is partitioned into a number
of client accounts and spaces, and you are fully technically responsible for
your "server space," which means that you must be as
technically savvy as a Dedicated Server Owner in order to
operate a "Virtual Private Server." Because we believe
not everyone is able to manage a real Dedicated Server or a
real "Virtual Private Server," we have decided to offer an
intermediary service between a Dedicated Server and a real "Virtual
Private Server." We call our service "Managed Virtual Private
Servers." The functionalities are virtually the same, but
our model has more advantages because it is a managed service,
which we call "Managed Virtual Private Servers".
By "Managed Virtual Private
Servers", we mean a service that offers you the exact
same
functionality as a Dedicated Server or Virtual Private Server,
without the need to worry about technical issues or needing to
know what is happening behind the scenes. The lack of server
partitioning in our offer should not be seen as a drawback
because each site created under our system is fully protected
via a jail mechanism that prevents owners of sites to access
or view files belonging to another site, thus greatly
enhancing site security across the server.
The table below shows the
differences and similarities between our "Managed Virtual
Private Servers" model and the real "Virtual Private Servers."
You will see that it will save you headaches if you adopt our
"Managed Virtual Private Servers" offer as opposed to
traditional ones.

Note:
Items in red indicate drawback or disadvantage. The number
of reds indicate the amount of drawbacks that come with
each model. Only root access and shared resources can be
seen as drawbacks of our model. But because our model is a
"managed" model, these are hardly drawbacks. In our model,
we manage the servers, you manage your sites. |
